GOLDEN KUKER SOFIA INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION FILM FESTIVAL is organised by the Bulgarian Association of Independent Cartoon Animation Artists – BAICAA. More than 300 films from 50 countries enter the competition every year.
The festival consists of competitive screenings, informational and retrospective programmes, as well as supporting events such as workshops, master-classes, lectures, round tables and presentations, which provide a rare opportunity to meet world renowned animation professionals, make contacts and present/watch the latest animation creations from all around the world.
Films can be submitted into one of the following categories (including the brand new categories “1-minute animation film” and “eco-animation film”):
* International Competition of Short Animated Films (up to 1 minute) * International Competition of Short Animated Films (1 – 10 minutes) * International Competition of Short Animated Films (10 – 50 minutes) * International Competition of Feature-length Animated Films (over 50 minutes) * International Competition of Student Animated Films (Graduation films) * International Competition of Animated Commissioned Films (educational, scientific or industrial films; advertising or promotional films; music videos) * International Competition of Animated Films made for Kids (TV series; short films made for kids; feature films made for kids) * International Competition of Eco-animation Films (animated films with a focus on environment preservation & ecology) * National Competition of Bulgarian Animated Films
