The Holland Animation Film Festival 2013 is calling for entries. The competitions are open for films that had their premiere after January 1, 2012. The deadline is 1 January 2013!

The 10th edition will take place in March (20 – 24) when the old centre of Utrecht will be transformed into a world of animation. HAFF functions as a platform for animation professionals and new talents who are looking for inspiration and networking opportunities. However, the festival is fun for anyone who enjoys the art of animation. The festival aims to bring high-quality animation film to the attention of a wider audience, as well as stimulating the screening of these films in cinemas and on television.

During HAFF, national and international talents compete for awards in various competitions. The categories include an Feature International Competition open for all animated films over sixty minutes and a Short International Competition for animation films with a maximum length of 60 minutes. The competition is open for all independently produced shorts and television specials or authors animation. The non-narrative section is open for experimental, abstract and cutting edge animation. A Grand Prize will be presented in the categories narrative and non-narrative films. Films selected for the shorts competition are also eligible for the MovieSquad HAFF Award, with a jury of its own, consisting of three youngsters between sixteen and eighteen year old.
In addition, the Competition for short European student films is open for all European student films with a maximum length of 60 minutes. Graduation films as well as films from other years’ courses can be submitted. The competition is open for films produced at European art schools and film schools. Student films from countries outside of Europe can be entered for the international competition for shorts. A Grand Prize will be appointed to the best European student film.
Dutch films can also compete for the audience award for best Dutch animation.
Alongside with the competitions the HAFF presents thematic programmes, as well as talk shows, master classes, debates and an educational programme.
